Ok, so....I won the Shining Blade outfit in a contest....and I'll admit that it's pretty cool. The hood is really nice to mix and match with various armors (especially the grenth's regalia).

I'm still not a big fan of the Mantle one, but either way, it's fine.

I definitely wouldn't have bought them, but winning one was nice.

Costumes are awesome, it seems white mantle robes and shining blade cowl are the way to go, though I also like the shining blade cowl with grenth regaila dyed black.

I guess you, like some others, havent been reading here, have you

Lindsey, Regina and others have stated through various interviews, journals and here that A) the costumes are just a small part, and B) they arent needed to do the quests.

Jeez this place makes me facepalm sometimes when people just go off when the answers are already here....

I am sad that interview said it would only be SB quests. I really wanted to cause some havoc as the WM, but if it lays some lore for GW2 then so be it.

while I like the White Mantel costume on my monk, she just looks weird with the Shining Blade Hood. Her eyes are huge.

She looks much better with her White Mantel disguise. Oddly, what I find goes quite well with the Shining Blade Cowl is Grenth's Regalia, on my assassin.

i am in the "spending 10 bucks on thread is stupid boat", that said its up to the person if they buy or not. Im sorry but all these do is make your char look nice. if they actually made you better in a battle/extra then i would shell out money. for now my 10 bucks is going with my other money to buy me a new computer to play gw with. i also hope we wont need these to play 5th content with or play gw2 when it comes out.
